Big Bohemian Eclectic ~ Living Room Makeover ~ Desk Styling

I have to admit, I'm having way too much fun with this living room makeover. It's probably because I have been collecting pieces for several years and now that I'm putting them all together I can finally see my vision playing out. It has taken me quite some time to find the right pieces but having some patience has worked in my favor. I want to be surrounded by things that I love and that takes time.

I've always wanted a desk in the living room. This desk was another amazing thrift store find. It was only $20, it's small, cute and perfect for the living room. I don't have a big living room so finding the perfect desk was a task.

I had fun styling this desk. The lovely painted sign from Rubbish Love Shoppe is the star. I wrote about them in my last post. I love that it stands out and is propped on top of some of my favorite home decor books. I already had friends and family ask me this weekend where I got the painted sign. They loved it and the story behind it. I love pieces like this because they spark conversation and make people feel good.

I pretty much already had all the accessories on hand except for the two vases, the love sign and the tin cans which I found at Target in the dollar section. They are valentines day vases but I love that I can use them year round. The postcard is from my favorite movie of all time which is the Labyrinth starring David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly. The pink card was my  mothers day gift from my daughter.

My mom used to put all the things we made for her in a box so they wouldn't get ruined but I love using them around my home. I feel like these little things get forgotten if you put them in a box. They remind me how much I'm loved and how lucky I am to have my children. Plus they really do make me the cutest things.

Also I like to keep my journals, note pads and a candle on my desk. It has become my little work station.
How do you style your desk? Send me some pics I would love to see. Have an awesome day!
